PostSubject: Headchopperz Guide to Hunters (under construction)   Headchopperz Guide to Hunters (under construction) Icon_minitimeSun Jul 22, 2007 8:26 am

Ill have to post my pics another time due to the insert image think not working Neutral

ill speak the pictures for now:

My Game name is Headchopperz and im sure alot of u have heard of me cracking up the lamest jokes in history..... atm (at the time i wote this post) im lvl 50.57.
First of all i advise 3 things for a hunter (and anyotherclass)
1) Go to www.thottbot.com and look for cosmos and download it, ive told many people in the guild this and they will all say... its an awsome peice of kit.
2) Go to interface menue and go to advanced and click allow the right hand bars etc (ill get u a pic uget stuck.) this means you see more action abrs at once meaning its easier to click on em all at once.
3) were it says General chat right click - go to combat and say tell me the Honor gained + Xp gained, makes it easier to no how much xp you get per kill etc.

-and btw choose survival talent tree ill explain why later-

Hunters.... WHO cares:
obviously the person whos got to fight you! and why?
(no im not copying this from another web...im just bored)
having troble agaisn't rogues... NO MORE!
Fighting rogues tips:
a rogue always have 1 Aim and that is to get behind the enemy and stabb him to death... A hunter has several tricks.
A: (wors for any class) PUT YOU BACK AGAISN'T A WALL! (doesn't take a genious to work that out)
B: lay a freezing trap behind or under you a rogue hits he freezes
C:if you can Flare the area around you and use Track hidden and once u spot the rogues USE YOUR HUNTERS MARK ON EM! (always remember to read your skills carefully) hunters mark while activated stops rogues from stealthing again or going invisible (works for night elfs too).
D: in an arena for example you might start in a palce like: |_| ur in a little room heres a tip:
|\\O\\\\F\| Key : X = you
|\\\\\X\\\\| O = your pet
|\\\\\T\\\\| T = trap (freezing works the best)
|\\\\\\\\\\\| F = flares
|\\\\\\\\\\\| -- = walls
------------- \ = blank spots
your pet will see the rogue if he takes the left, your flares will see the rogue if he takes the right... and the only other way is middle and ur there and so the rogue is probily going to stay out to draw you out. if you go out NEVER stop running cos if u keep running he'll never get behind you, and you can find him and then he'll be running =D.

E: also try hunters marking the rogue b4 he/she stealths this prevents He/She from stealthing.

PALADINS.... STOP HEALING WILL YA!
ok paladins are seriosuly annoying and esspecialy for low lvls...
1 ive found you can get passed barriers with stings.. so if they barrier sting em.
2 wehn u get higher you find out a skill called Viper Sting it drains the oppenents mana... 1st Sting then freeze the pala is loosing mana and is unable to attack and even move, (also if your a suvival you can sleep em 4 12 secs then poisen em deadly) and once a pala has no mana...there like a hunter without a pet! pale (pala) pale

Hunters... FING PET GET OFF ME!
get rid of the pet...kill the owner... Bingo....
1 NEVER EVER attack a minion or a pet (unless the owner is 10000miles away and is spying or isn't hleping with range).
2 always atatck the owner and heres how you do it; probily without realising you hunters have some decent spells like Scare Beast, or Freeze trap and even Friegn Death... Scare beast i don't realy reccomend unlessyou not in combat due to the time it takes to cast, Freeze trap and Wyvren Sting (survival skill) i hgihly reccomend and are the most efficient (esspectially Wyvren Sting), after that theres the enemy hunter and theres a big chance they will do the same thing as your pet, so what? well you don't ahve your pet helping you thats what... how do you conter it? (this only works with Wyvern sting) Sting the enemy with Wyvern the hunter is sleeping Sleep their pet comes back... refreeze him or scare him... your pet comes back and at the lvl of 50 the other hunter has to ait another 10 seconds to set a trap or... use fear beast.. But if u use speed on your shots and pulverise him it'll takethe enemy hunter ages to fear your pet and he might even GIVE UP! (easy win enemy hunter dies) - maby this is how i get ranked so high in BGS....

Warlocks FING CHAIN FEAR!
1 ASA-FING-P sting em or freeze em or do what ever!
2 keep jumping behind them and their spell will stop saying target behind you or sumthing
3 leave the minion and freeze it
4 if you can get 2.8k of honor points and get a trinket that stops warlocks from fearing you (5min CD).
5 run behind trees so target not in line of sight and let ur pet make that damn warlock scream!
6 don't get close to em either mele em or rnage em don't get in the bit imbetween or they can mage u and u can't do anything!
7 but for all their overpowerd skills they tend to be bad in PVP if any1 finds out why plz say.
8 b4 they fear drop traps and if ur lucky ull run out of their range and they run on the trap by accident =D

mage
1 vry simalar to warlocks and gnomes r extreamily effective agaisn't them because a goood mage will freeze you and then range you from were u can't get em, gnomes can break out but... sometimes you can lay a trap and sometimes there close anough to it and get effected, pet em or simily don't get that close to a mage
2 most of the warlock points
3 and keep jumping behind em as they rely on magic

More coming soon

affraid affraid MORE!? affraid affraid lol
Still can't insert an image btw so it'll ahve to be next post Sad
everytime i refresh the page it says a different error weird...

Shamans I H8 THAT FING HEALING TOTEM!!!
destroy the totems you destroy the shaman
1 use fire blast trap thingy it explodes and caused 150 dam to every1 nearby (if enemies) and somre more dmaage over time, use that and slowley the totems DIIIIEEEE! and the shaman has to use more mana to replace them, so before hand you can viper sting the shaman so they run out of mana destroy the healing totems, now they can't replace them freeze the shaman, get a good distance back and BANG goes your gun. and the shaman dies! =D
2 range em range em and urm... range em, shoot shoot shoot concussive shot, run back a bit, shoot shoot shoot, if there in melee range use wing clip and run or concussive and keep repeating and without them realising ur pulling em away from their totems.

Priests, they sheild... they hit you, THEY HEAL... THEY SHEILD THEY HIT YOU AND THEY WON'T DIE!
1 tbh i like shadow priests cos they can't heal hehe makes it easier to kill em (im not gona say cos then they'll no, lol! )
2 Viper Sting (its becoming the hunters best friend... what your saying the pet is?? crazy...
3 run away from em... - RUN AWAY!?- this is why... a priest goes to attack you sting and run out of range, they heal to get rid of sting or use mana to disable sting. repeat several times... Mr. no mana will die!
4 shadow prests will attack simalar to mages, but with shadow so simalar to warlocks too, because they can't use holy spell and the protect is a holy spell... use the same tricks from warlocks and mages on them.
5 also while your keeping the priests attention your pet can deal so much and the damage from your quick shotss their armour goes and in the time b4 they fix it their dead =D (cos their got rubbish armour and not good in fighting like that)
6 but becarefull when fighting a shadow priest they can deal deady shots that send you loopy Mad on how they beat you.
7 but holy priests are the best people to have in a friendly raid or instance.

Warriors... they charge at me, Stun me, my pet does terrible fighting their armour, and i die i can't beat them in close combat!?! WTF DO I DO!
don't melee them...
1 simple lay a freezing tra just infront of u, range the warrior as he charges (might get 1 shot and try to make it a sting) he freezes you go Very Happy and dance around him (maby leave the dance bit out) and get a save distance away... range him, before he comes lay another freezeing trap, (same idea as above) repeat simalar process, aslo if your a suvival hunter you can sting him from afar (with Wyvren) and get your traps ready and when head out of the sleep he will have terrible poisen, runs at you freezes (trust me it works and these warriors never learn...) etc etc etc warriors dead...
2 everything realy explained in the 1st 1... you can try jumping over there heads in combat and stay behind them so u deal several hits without them being able to.

Druids... Bear, Cat... Cat Bear its like doing PVE not PVP
whenver i fight druids i slip into PVE mode and somtimes do the wrong moves... lol!
1 treat them simalr to warriors and try not to get close and when they switch into normall form pulverise them with all your shots!
2 in rogue there not as deadly just falre the place up trap it and watch out...
3 in bear treat them simalar to warriors even though there not as strong
4 and basicly repeast the bear form
5 also when they go to heal you can freeze them or (if your suvival) Wyvren sting them, and when ur ready shoot em like like crazy and with your pets DPS and your DPS if u attack extra fast they'll never heal and die Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
i think i got all the classes in thereif not please say |

HIGHLY ADIVSE!
http://petopia.brashendeavors.net (a must see for hunters, its all about pets etc)
www.wowwikki.com
and
www.thottbot.com
and this thread =D
and for a big laugh

its a kickass post on hunters, its hunters asking for more for example:
Q u o t e:
I WANT MY F-CKING PET TO LOOK LIKE A SENTRY TOWER WITH ARMORED LAZERGUNS MOUNTED TO ITS BACK
...
Turtle Toss
CD depends on speed of the turtle coming back to you.
Requires: Turtle Pet

Hunter throws his turtle at amazing speed towards his target. Turtle bounces from terrain and walls possibly hitting more targets more than once. Targets suffer 30second daze seeing the flying bouncing turtle. If hit by the turtle victim is stunned for 10seconds and drools uncontrollably after stun ends due sheer amazement.
Optionally Turtle can have shield spikes attached to its back to do moderate bleed damage of 1000 per second for 5 seconds. Stoneskin does not prevent this kind of bleeding.

and much much more =D
i posted in there aswell

PostSubject: Talents... THE UPS!... the downs.... (btw please respond)   Headchopperz Guide to Hunters (under construction) Icon_minitimeMon Jul 23, 2007 11:52 am

The Ups and Downs of all the Talents:
befor ei said survival was the best... but if youuse the others correctly survival will be the worst... ill explain..
Beast Mastery is an exelent choice for pet rellying hunters, it gives then IMPROVED aspects so you'll dodge more, have more rnaged attack power etc etc. Increases the Armor rating of your pets by 7-20% and your armor contributions from items by 4-10%.
EXTREAMILY HELPFULL:Revive Pet's casting time is reduced by 3-6 sec, mana cost is reduced by 20-40%, and increases the health your pet returns with by an additional 15-30% will help alot if your pet dies! save mana. INCREASES YOUR SPEED! INCREASES YOUR PETS DAMAGE! When your pet is under the effects of Bestial Wrath, you also go into a rage causing 10% additional damage and reducing mana cost of all spells by 20% for 18 secs. While enraged, you do not feel pity, remorse, or fear, and you cannot be stopped unless killed.
So whats bad ???
simpily if your pet dies you made extreamily Vunrable...
Quote :
Is that it? i keep my pet alive anyway with heal pet... he never dies!
no its not it ALSO in pvp NO player attacks the pet ALWAYS! the hunter this means beast mastery players will have a hard time in PVP.
Quote :
Ok.... so aslong as i stay out of PVP and don't let my pet die im fine?
yet again NO... if big fights you will come accross (esspeccially at high lvls) your pet can take alot of aggro, but when u pull more than u can chew your dead, only survival hunters can SURVIVE them types of attacks.
Quote :
=P i guess beast mastery hunters arn't too good then?
actually they are! supprisingly in PVP there pets can be extreamily leathal esspecially to people who CAN'T get rid of them, Beast mastery Vs. other Hunters isn't a good match because the hunters can freeze, fear or stunn the pet, but these leathal pets vs. healers (esspecialy healers and casters because of the speed of your pet added to the speed of your bow/gun/xbow/thrown will prevent them from healing or even casting simple spells!

Beast Mastery Hunters are vry good in PVE and sometimes in PVP if they manage to stay out of comabt (the hunter not the pet). but saying this even in combat they can deal damage and even fight well but they won't fight aswell as the other classes.

Marksmanship

Hunters have always been said the be the most leathal at range (range does not include mage) and marksmanship hunters are the most leathal type of ranger in the whole game!
why?
1st of all nearly all the stat bonuses in marksmanship is range oriantated for example:
Improved Concussive Shot none 5 Gives Concussive Shot a chance to stun its target for 3 seconds by 4-20% this means you can pulverise the opponent while there stunned, and gain an important advantage!
Also: one of the shots that crits the highest for hunters:
Aimed Shot 10 Marksmanship 1 An aimed shot that increases ranged damage by 70 (can be further trained at the Hunter Trainer up to 870 damage)
and even buffs for your allies!
Trueshot Aura 30 Marksmanship
1 Scatter Shot 1 Increases the Ranged and Melee attack power of party members within 45 yards by 50 (can be further trained at the Hunter Trainer)
Quote :
OMG THIS IS THE BEST CLASS EVER!
just becarefull ive found using marksmanship pulls toomuch aggro to you from your pet and team m8s, and now your stuck... so i advise marksmanship hunters to spendpoints in either of the two other talent trees.
Quote :
so.. i fire i get all the aggro....??? or am i wrong?
i found marksmanship (esspecially Aimed Shot) used at the beging or ending of combat so you don't get all the aggro, i also used stings and normall arcane shots to keep the battle going but not too much or the aggro would be off my pet. i then spent points in survival to boost my hp and mana i found the perfect combo high rnaged shots and good defense if i need it.
i advise a marksman hunter for groups as itll be harder to pull aggro off the tanks, also these hunters will be the most efficient in some of my PVP bit up, but.... in melee they're like beastmastery hunters (for some reason these hunters tend to stick to 2nd weapons don't ask me why)

SURVIVAL!
has to be my favourite talent tree ever, it gets me out of sticky situations and im running away smiling from ear to ear showing off my wins....
Quote :
i can survive even if my pet dies
in PVP tbh i don't realy need my pet im all melee orintated, (though somtimes i have to range) i use my pet to unmask rogues, annoy healers and casters and lure people into faulse traps with eyes of the beasts. (somtimes, my jaguar looks like a druid in polyform thing, gets attacked by rogues (cos they think its a druid) and i use and supprise the rogue, he he, and easily kill him when it comes to melee.)
in survival its hard to deal damage with your range shots (which atually is a heaven, as u get less aggro) but after a while i do more dmage then my pet and i have to get me axes ready(2 1handers helps better and gives more DPS and as survival hunters are dps melee needy its a good idea to have 2 1handers instead of 1 2h)
examples of good survival talents, bonuses:
Monster Slaying none 3 Increases all damage caused against Beast, Giants and Dragonkin targets by up to 1-3% and increases critical damage caused against Beast Giants and Dragonkin targets by the same.
Humanoid Slaying none 3 Increases all damage caused against Humanoid targets by up to 1-3% and increases critical damage caused against Humanoid targets by the same.
HIGHLY HIGHLY ADIVSE THEM TWO!

this helps range and melee clobber the mobs you h8 =D
Quote :
so... a survival hunter replaces to warrior?
HELL NO! the survival hunter just does alot more damage in melee they still do ALOT betetr in range!
Counterattack - A must-have for any Survival build. Will always hit, always root your target, and does damage all after you successfully parry attack. i HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY advise this skill and it becomes no much usefull. i counterattack (only after you parry, but u get a parry bonus in survival) it roots the enemy, i run back, HOPEFULLY my pet gets the aggro, and i can range for a bit till he comes back to me.
Lightning Reflexes - A 15% possible boost to agility should not be underestimated. that boost seriosuly helps ALOT!
Wyvern Sting - A must-have if you're delving deep into Survival already. It is a weak form of crowd control, but more importantly, it wakes them up with a better debuff than Serpent Sting. You - or anyone also - can also wake the target early, so it's great for manipulating PvP or PvE. Since you can also use freezing trap, this makes a survival hunter one of few who can crowd control two mobs at once.
and i guess urve heard me tlak alot about it :
Wyvern Sting 30 Survival
3 Killer Instinct 1 A stinging shot that puts the target to sleep for 12 sec. Any damage will cancel the effect. When the target wakes up, the Sting causes 300 Nature damage over 12 sec. Only usable out of combat. Only one Sting per Hunter can be active on the target at a time. (Further ranks trainable at Hunter Trainer)
Quote :
SO ALL GOOD WAHTS BAD?
the point that hunters shouldn't be a melee target but it gets tanks by supprise
also they deal less of there super good marksmanship damage
great (the best ill say) in PVP (esspecially vs/PVP rogues) and youll be supprised on how well you do... with survival youll do LESS DAMAGE!(i mean lower crits) but you do MORE DAMAGE overtime, so its good for a long BG.

theres NO good talent its only good if you use them correctly!

Also HIGHLY (thanks to goodwind) advise www.wowecon.com
also then go to Download and downlaod the addon it is awsome! it tells you the prices of each item on the hellfire realm or if it doesn't know it gives you a rough estemate.(global realms)
pic:
(my post box after i used it:)
Headchopperz Guide to Hunters (under construction) Money_10
what it does is: basicly tell you the prices of the items... saves you logging off or going AFK. ect.
heres 2 pics bout it:
Headchopperz Guide to Hunters (under construction) Eg_bmp10
ignor the blue dropped by (thats from cosmos, the other addon i said about b4, also the engineering etc. is cosmos.)
it says there:
----------------the Vendor price
----------------the server you set it to price (mines set tohellfire horde + allience)
----------------the global overall price

also it....
Headchopperz Guide to Hunters (under construction) Eg_2_b10
you can search for items in the database and it might beable to even tell you forwearable items tehir stats, (aslong as it can be A/Hed) it works with cosmos in to tell you the drops.
it shows the vendor the realm and the global.
the numbers by the price show how many are being sold
you also get a gold button on your minimap for quick access to this page (like cosmos)
recently seen items (tital says it)
watch list (not sure how to work)
price alerts (ditto)
options (however you wantit to be)
about (makers info)

couple of points for you to try and defend against Smile

start with mages (frost mage)

At 50~ they get water ele so that means 2x frost nova, so no pet attacking to make interups (slow casting)

common frost mages will summon water ele-frost boltx2- Nova(trying to only use one nova if they get that you are practivally dead)

Also they have ice barrier and ice block (ice block can only be used every 5 mins~ and then 30sec if u got coldsnap 10min cd) so basically this means Dots will go so rather then sot bump out the damage

Shaman

if you fighting a resto shaman give up they last forever =p (mine is undefeated in 1v1 full tier 1+2+2.5 and half of 3)

Ok so ele shaman well if you get there mana done there quite easy to beat but with melle there harder as they can also regenrate there mana according to there AP (not sure what level this is) but if that shaman gets close + earthbinds +frost bolts to keep you close while you trap your pretty much dead esp if he is duel weild and his windfury procs like mad.

As you said kitting is pretty much the only way to beat them but smart shamans know to run in before the duel starts Razz even they that is kinda cheating
