The Ups and Downs of all the Talents:
befor ei said survival was the best... but if youuse the others correctly survival will be the worst... ill explain..
Beast Mastery is an exelent choice for pet rellying hunters, it gives then IMPROVED aspects so you'll dodge more, have more rnaged attack power etc etc. Increases the Armor rating of your pets by 7-20% and your armor contributions from items by 4-10%.
EXTREAMILY HELPFULL:
Revive Pet's casting time is reduced by 3-6 sec, mana cost is reduced by 20-40%, and increases the health your pet returns with by an additional 15-30% will help alot if your pet dies! save mana. INCREASES YOUR SPEED! INCREASES YOUR PETS DAMAGE!
When your pet is under the effects of Bestial Wrath, you also go into a rage causing 10% additional damage and reducing mana cost of all spells by 20% for 18 secs. While enraged, you do not feel pity, remorse, or fear, and you cannot be stopped unless killed. So whats bad ???
simpily if your pet dies you made extreamily Vunrable...

- Is that it? i keep my pet alive anyway with heal pet... he never dies!
no its not it ALSO in pvp NO player attacks the pet
ALWAYS! the hunter this means beast mastery players will have a hard time in PVP.
- Quote :
- Ok.... so aslong as i stay out of PVP and don't let my pet die im fine?
yet again NO... if big fights you will come accross (esspeccially at high lvls) your pet can take alot of aggro, but when u pull more than u can chew your dead, only survival hunters can SURVIVE them types of attacks.
- Quote :
- =P i guess beast mastery hunters arn't too good then?
actually they are! supprisingly in PVP there pets can be extreamily leathal esspecially to people who CAN'T get rid of them, Beast mastery Vs. other Hunters isn't a good match because the hunters can freeze, fear or stunn the pet, but these leathal pets vs. healers (esspecialy healers and casters because of the speed of your pet added to the speed of your bow/gun/xbow/thrown will prevent them from healing or even casting simple spells!
Beast Mastery Hunters are vry good in PVE and sometimes in PVP if they manage to stay out of comabt (the hunter not the pet). but saying this even in combat they can deal damage and even fight well but they won't fight aswell as the other classes.
MarksmanshipHunters have always been said the be the most leathal at range (range does not include mage) and marksmanship hunters are the most leathal type of ranger in the whole game!
why?
1st of all nearly all the stat bonuses in marksmanship is range oriantated for example:
Improved Concussive Shot none 5 Gives Concussive Shot a chance to stun its target for 3 seconds by 4-20% this means you can pulverise the opponent while there stunned, and gain an important advantage!
Also: one of the shots that crits the highest for hunters:
Aimed Shot 10 Marksmanship 1 An aimed shot that increases ranged damage by 70 (can be further trained at the Hunter Trainer up to 870 damage)
and even buffs for your allies!
Trueshot Aura 30 Marksmanship
1 Scatter Shot 1 Increases the Ranged and Melee attack power of party members within 45 yards by 50 (can be further trained at the Hunter Trainer)

- OMG THIS IS THE BEST CLASS EVER!
just becarefull ive found using marksmanship pulls toomuch aggro to you from your pet and team m8s, and now your stuck... so i advise marksmanship hunters to spendpoints in either of the two other talent trees.
- Quote :
- so.. i fire i get all the aggro....??? or am i wrong?
i found marksmanship (esspecially Aimed Shot) used at the beging or ending of combat so you don't get all the aggro, i also used stings and normall arcane shots to keep the battle going but not too much or the aggro would be off my pet. i then spent points in survival to boost my hp and mana i found the perfect combo high rnaged shots and good defense if i need it.
i advise a marksman hunter for groups as itll be harder to pull aggro off the tanks, also these hunters will be the most efficient in some of my PVP bit up, but.... in melee they're like beastmastery hunters (for some reason these hunters tend to stick to 2nd weapons don't ask me why)
SURVIVAL!has to be my favourite talent tree ever, it gets me out of sticky situations and im running away smiling from ear to ear showing off my wins....

- i can survive even if my pet dies
in PVP tbh i don't realy need my pet im all melee orintated, (though somtimes i have to range) i use my pet to unmask rogues, annoy healers and casters and lure people into faulse traps with eyes of the beasts. (somtimes, my jaguar looks like a druid in polyform thing, gets attacked by rogues (cos they think its a druid) and i use and supprise the rogue, he he, and easily kill him when it comes to melee.)
in survival its hard to deal damage with your range shots (which atually is a heaven, as u get less aggro) but after a while i do more dmage then my pet and i have to get me axes ready(2 1handers helps better and gives more DPS and as survival hunters are dps melee needy its a good idea to have 2 1handers instead of 1 2h)
examples of good survival talents, bonuses:
Monster Slaying none 3 Increases all damage caused against Beast, Giants and Dragonkin targets by up to 1-3% and increases critical damage caused against Beast Giants and Dragonkin targets by the same.
Humanoid Slaying none 3 Increases all damage caused against Humanoid targets by up to 1-3% and increases critical damage caused against Humanoid targets by the same.
HIGHLY HIGHLY ADIVSE THEM TWO!this helps range and melee clobber the mobs you h8 =D

- so... a survival hunter replaces to warrior?
HELL NO! the survival hunter just does alot more damage in melee they still do ALOT betetr in range!
Counterattack - A must-have for any Survival build. Will always hit, always root your target, and does damage all after you successfully parry attack. i HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY advise this skill and it becomes no much usefull. i counterattack (only after you parry, but u get a parry bonus in survival) it roots the enemy, i run back, HOPEFULLY my pet gets the aggro, and i can range for a bit till he comes back to me.
Lightning Reflexes - A 15% possible boost to agility should not be underestimated. that boost seriosuly helps ALOT!
Wyvern Sting - A must-have if you're delving deep into Survival already. It is a weak form of crowd control, but more importantly, it wakes them up with a better debuff than Serpent Sting. You - or anyone also - can also wake the target early, so it's great for manipulating PvP or PvE. Since you can also use freezing trap, this makes a survival hunter one of few who can crowd control two mobs at once.
and i guess urve heard me tlak alot about it :
Wyvern Sting 30 Survival
3 Killer Instinct 1 A stinging shot that puts the target to sleep for 12 sec. Any damage will cancel the effect. When the target wakes up, the Sting causes 300 Nature damage over 12 sec. Only usable out of combat. Only one Sting per Hunter can be active on the target at a time. (Further ranks trainable at Hunter Trainer)

- SO ALL GOOD WAHTS BAD?
the point that hunters shouldn't be a melee target but it gets tanks by supprise
also they deal less of there super good marksmanship damage
great (the best ill say) in PVP (esspecially vs/PVP rogues) and youll be supprised on how well you do... with survival youll do
LESS DAMAGE!(i mean lower crits) but you do
MORE DAMAGE overtime, so its good for a long BG.
theres NO good talent its only good if you use them correctly!
